Patty was born and raised in rural Iowa and has been living in San Diego for more than 30 years. Patty has been training and communicating with dogs for most of her life. Growing up on a farm she was exposed to a wide variety of animals, their birthing, interaction and training. She received her first German Shepherd Dog at 10 years old and that was the beginning of her desire to work with dogs. Her passion for interacting and working with animals led her to start helping people have a more clear understanding of the human/canine culture clash. Patty’s sincere desire is to help pet owners better understand why their dogs are doing the things they're doing and to help people enhance their understanding of canine communication. With this clear understanding both dogs and owners will enjoy a more enriched and compassionate living environment for a happier life together. Patty believes that one of the best things you can do for your dog is allow them to be the magnificant animals they are, DOGS.
Patty is an advocate in her belief that with this understanding and shared knowledge, fewer pets will end up homeless, on the streets or in shelters. Patty spends her days and nights in the company of dogs. Her expertise in Canine Behavior is evident in the immediate reaction that most dogs have in the first hello. Patty belongs to several charitable organizations for animals and has worked with several non-profit organizations in the placement of dogs without homes. There is nothing more rewarding than when a homeless dog or puppy comes into a loving home that has longed for a dog.
Patty's passion was a driving force in the development and building of Canine Nanny Services, LLC, K-9 Training Camp, Day Camp Dogs Doggie Daycare and Tucker's Inn Doggie Lodging. Her two dogs Tucker, (a German Shepherd Dog) and Sumo, (an English Labrador Retriever) spend their days at Day Camp Dogs Doggie Daycare and their evenings sharing her home. Patty has obtained the Canine Good Citizen on both Tucker and Sumo. Tucker is also an active Therapy Dog at local schools, retirement homes, hospitals and nursing care facilities. Sumo successfully completed his Therapy Dog Prep School with Pawsitive Teams! Graduation was May 20, 2008. He is absolutely an amazing, well rounded Labrador Retriever!.

Your Dog's Silent Prayer
Treat me kindly my beloved friend, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me. Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn. Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ears. Please take me inside when it is cold and wet, for I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to bitter elements. I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger. And, my friend, when I am very old, and no longer enjoy good health, hearing, and sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I am not having any fun. Please see that my trusting life is taken gently. I shall leave this earth knowing with my last breath I draw that my fate was always safest in your hands. And always remember that I love you.
